Square 1 Bank’s Equity Funds Group Expands Offerings to Benefit Emerging ManagersDecember 5, 2016
Square 1 Bank, a division of Pacific Western Bank, announced today that it has expanded its Equity Funds Group’s offerings to emerging managers and first time funds in the venture capital and private equity community. Formerly known as Venture Capital Services, Square 1’s Equity Funds Group (EFG) focuses exclusively on meeting the unique needs of venture capital and private equity firms.
“We often work with partners who have not been on the fundraising or fund formation side of the business,” said Chuck Tedeschi, senior vice president in Square 1’s Equity Funds Group. “In these situations, we offer support in a variety of ways including identifying the right limited partners to target, and connecting them to Square 1’s client base and potential investors, as well as legal, audit and fund administration service providers.”
This fall, Square 1 reinforced its commitment to emerging managers and the larger venture capital and private equity ecosystem through several industry sponsorships across the country, including:
- The 4th annual KAYO Women’s Private Equity Conference. Held in Chicago, over 275 private equity investors, company executives and advisors attended this year’s event. Kay Parry, senior vice president in Square 1’s Equity Funds Group and technology banking practice, served as moderator for the conference’s Fund Formation: The First Five Years
- The Institutional Limited Partners Association’s (ILPA) GP Summit Emerging Managers Showcase. Held in New York City, the event offered 12 up-and-coming managers in private equity the opportunity to meet with dozens of limited partners with the goal of building relationships and securing future investments. Square 1 served as a sponsor of the showcase and had several senior-level bankers in attendance.
Looking ahead to 2017, Square 1 will continue to support organizations and events for private equity and venture capital professionals, including the National Venture Capital Association and Institutional Limited Partners Association, the Kayo Conference Series and the Women’s Private Equity Summit, among others.
